Who we are

YieldRadar (yieldradar.uk) publishes UK house price and rental yield statistics, aggregated from live property market listings and updated monthly. The data controller for the personal data described in this policy is Zubayer Sharif-Butt, trading as YieldRadar, of Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU. Our ICO registration reference is ZC264277.

What we collect

You don't need an account to use the map, area pages, calculators, or any other free tool on the site, those collect no personal information. We collect personal data in three situations:

• Newsletter signup: your email address, and the date and page you signed up from.
• Creating an account (free or paid): your email address (used to send you a one-time login link, we don't use passwords), and session data each time you log in: a session identifier, your IP address, browser user-agent, and login timestamps.
• Subscribing to the paid plan: billing details are collected and held directly by Stripe, our payment processor, we don't receive or store your full card details ourselves. We do store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and subscription status, so we can check whether your account is on the paid plan.

The legal basis we rely on

• Account creation, login, and the paid subscription: necessary to perform our contract with you, i.e. to provide the service you've signed up or paid for (UK GDPR Art 6(1)(b)).
• Security and server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure, preventing abuse, and diagnosing faults (Art 6(1)(f)), balanced against your privacy, logs are kept only as long as needed for that purpose (see Retention below).
• Newsletter emails: your consent, given when you sign up (Art 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

How we use it

Email addresses are used only to send the login link you request, service and billing-related messages (e.g. payment receipts, a notice before a material change to these policies), and, if you've signed up for them, the newsletter updates you asked for. We don't sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

We use the following processors to run the site. Each processes data on our behalf, under their own privacy policy and, where they're outside the UK, under a lawful transfer mechanism (typically their own Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent UK-approved safeguard, we recommend checking each provider's own policy for the specifics that apply to your data):

How long we keep it

• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months of no engagement with our emails, whichever comes first.
• Account data: for as long as your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closure, except billing records, which UK tax law requires us to keep for 6 years.
• Session data (IP, user-agent, login timestamps): 90 days on a rolling basis.
• Server/security logs: 30 days on a rolling basis.

Analytics & server logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser type) for security and diagnostic purposes.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see aggregate traffic numbers (how many people visit, which pages are popular, which sites send us visitors). It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't build an individual profile of you. We don't use any ad-tracking cookies or ad-network analytics on this site.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask us to:

• Tell you what data we hold about you (access)
• Correct inaccurate data (rectification)
• Delete your data (erasure), where there's no legal reason we need to keep it
• Restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances (restriction)
• Receive the data you've given us in a portable, machine-readable format (portability)
• Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including the security logging described above (objection)
• Withdraw consent at any time, e.g. by unsubscribing from the newsletter
